Alex Ultzsch

Associate

Alex is a recent graduate from the University of Kansas with both his Bachelors and Masters of Architecture degrees with as well as a graduate certificate in Urban Design. During his graduate year he was apart of the KU Co-Op Urban Design program working on the team as a part-time intern while completing my thesis. Alex had the opportunity to gain some experience in project phasing, project management, and construction through a Design-Build studio course where him and his classmates designed and built the Ryan Gray Pavilion at Hillcrest Elementary in Lawrence, Kansas. Additionally, he is interested in the impact of biomimicry in architecture which led him to creating an experimental acoustical mycelium-saw dust composite panel tested for sound absorption using the reverberation room test.

on a personal note...

Outside of work, Alex enjoys staying active by exercising and exploring the city. Since recently moving to KC he’s enjoyed discovering the different places the city has to offer. He is also a big fan of watching and attending any sporting events he can, although KU basketball is his favorite team to support and he tries to go to as many games as possible. Finally, Alex is a huge fan of anything Star Wars related!
