Senior Interior Designer
GastingerWalker& is an established 60+ person Kansas City based Architectural and Interior Design Firm and has a career opportunity available for a Senior Interior Designer or Interior Architect to join our Kansas City creative team. A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Interior Design. The candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively on diverse projects in our Work, Learn, Live, Heal and Play practice areas. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, seeking growth and learning opportunities on a variety of project types.
Meet with clients to develop ongoing relationships
Lead and manage projects from inception to contract administration / completion
Generate creative concepts and solutions within the client’s functional and budget needs
Possess effective interpersonal and communications skills
Coordinate with consultants
Manage client expectations and relationship
Develop and lead client presentations
Manage overall project fees and schedules
Provide mentoring and leadership to team members
Lead the selection and specification of furniture, lighting, finishes and artwork within the clients’ budget
Advanced knowledge of building regulations and codes
Utilize GW& best practices
Bachelor’s Degree in interior design or architecture, CIDA accredited program preferred
NCIDQ certification or architectural registration preferred or on track for completion
Excellent verbal, written and graphic presentation skills
Portfolio of work demonstrating design and technical excellence
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Revit; Skills in use of Adobe InDesign, Sketchup and other 3-d software preferred
Demonstrated experience in producing technical construction documentation necessary for permit
Active in the professional design community preferred
