LAKE LENEXA DAM AND SPILLWAY

Lenexa, Kansas | 280 Acre Park/60,000 SF Spillway | Master Plan

The spillway is the central feature of Black Hoof Park. At 35 Acres, the lake is the largest in Lenexa and supports the City’s goals for nurturing the environment in quality developments. The ‘Rain to Recreation Program,’ which is designed to reduce flooding, provides recreation and education, inspired the project.

87TH STREET TRUSS

Lenexa, Kansas | 300 ft. by 300 ft. | Master Plan

The firm developed schematic designs for the metro’s first Single Point Urban Interchange (SPUI) in just two weeks, while leading the City of Lenexa’s executive team through a theme definition exercise which culminated the “high-tech, environmental” identity. This process created a baseline that informed and unified the design. The truss design led to all associated projects, including the spillway, park shelters, and facilities.
